SPINDEX is more than a rating. It’s a measure of trust.
SPINDEX shows your playing level and a Confidence Level that represents the system’s confidence in that rating. The more you play and record matches, the clearer and more accurate your rating becomes.

When you register for your SPINDEX account, you can either enter your current rating from another 0-3000 rating system such as USATT or Ratings Central OR you can estimate your rating using this scale

Confidence Level shows how sure SPINDEX is that your rating matches your real playing level.
When you’re new, your Confidence Level (CL) starts lower and your rating may change more as SPINDEX learns. As you log more match results, your CL increases and your rating becomes more stable. If you haven’t played in a while, your CL may decrease until you record new results.
Why Confidence Level matters?
• Shows whether your rating is still developing or well established
• Adds transparency to how reliable a rating is
• Helps explain why ratings move more for some players than others
Play and record matches consistently. More real results over time increase your CL and help your rating stabilize. If your CL drops after time off, log a few new matches to bring it back up. So, keep competing and improving!
